Emberfall Saga

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Emberfall Saga surprised me. I went in expecting a grind machine and got a real story about a fading kingdom and the misfits trying to hold it together. The turn-based combat is where the depth lives — every character has a role, and battles turn into little puzzles once enemies start stacking status effects.

The touch controls handle party positioning well, which is not always a given on a small screen. You drag characters into formation, tap abilities, and there's an auto option for the boring encounters so you can save your attention for the tough ones. Character progression is generous enough that you never feel stuck.

My one gripe is the early hours drag before you unlock your third party member. Push through it and the game opens up beautifully.
